2. Joe Montana (4)

Joseph “Joe” Montana played in the NFL for 16 seasons, primarily with the San Francisco 49ers. He played college football at Notre Dame and won a national championship before being selected in the third round of the 1979 NFL Draft by the 49ers, where he played for the next 14 seasons. Over those seasons, Montana led the team to four Super Bowl victories (XVI, XIX, XXIII, and XXIV). He was the MVP of three Super Bowls, making him the first ever player with that accomplishment. Montana spent his final two seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, where he led them to an AFC Championship. The 8 time pro bowler retired from the NFL in 1994 and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2000, his first year of eligibility.
