Monday I just closed on a new hunting ranch, so I'll use this thread to document the process of setting it up the way I like. This is my 5th ranch to own (the others have been sold after the divorce). I really love working on them even more than the actual hunting. I'm to the stage now I enjoy taking friends and family out more than hunting myself.

Here is a quick introduction and drone tour. Please Subscribe to the YouTube channel and Like the video.

You must have a little Okie blood in you bud. Lots of trees for bow hunting !

How are the hogs there ? Not much open land for them to screw up.

ha, I hate Okies, but love Oklahoma. :) My dad's first church after seminary in Texas was Pryor, Oklahoma. We lived there from the time I was 3 months to 4 years old, then moved to Kansas.

There are quite a few hogs, but hopefully they don't overrun. They were hitting the spring hard this summer in the drought. Lin should get one here within a few weeks.

I have my 2 new trailer blinds setup (“the girlfriend blinds”), they are enclosed, carpeted, and padded seats. :D

they are about $7k with all the nice options like I have. I like because you can move them around, still 4' high, rifle and archery windows, and fit 3 side by side. For $8k you can get the 20 foot tower blinds, which I'll do too after a little dirt work.

I was worried about public hunting starting Thursday and our 1 mile border with a public hunting area, so Mia and I ran all the way up just to hang No Trespassing signs. She also got to shoot the Crossbow for the first time, I think it will be great for her, my girlfriend, and my mom. Vs a bow it shoots 420 feet per second, accurate out to 100 yards, and the girls aim through a scope like a rifle. They are going to whack some deer with it! We ran out of time to hog hunt, but we did come across a group and I threw a 223 at them from 190 yards. I thought it was closer to 100 yards, so bullet went just under the big mamma and hit a large piglet. Maybe the group will be scared off a little and not run deer off. :D

That's pretty slick. I'd love to be able to step off my back porch and zero in a new scope instead of having to go to the range.

Anxious to get back out there this weekend. Hopefully Mia can get on a doe. Plenty of wildlife showing up the last day.

Mia and I enjoyed a beautiful afternoon at the land. 5 feeders filled, 1 moved, 5 cameras checked, and then she practiced with the 243. Snowmageden really got the rye going without any erosion. Barn is coming along great. Only problem still having drone issues.
