Outdoors Hunt & Fish road trip w/Mia!

Mia and I are doing a little 5-day Spring Break outdoors road trip. Starting with fishing the remote west Texas lake Alan Henry on Thursday. This lake produces some giants and doesn't get all the city pressure. Then Friday and Saturday Mia is going for her first Blackbuck. Out of all my mounts, Mia's favorite has always been my Blackbuck and she wants one. They eat great too!

Bad news guide contacted this morning that they had a die off because of the cold last month and he cancelled the hunt.

We drove to Snyder, TX today and bass fishing all day tomorrow at Alan Henry. We then have through Sunday to figure out something to do.

fishing was tough. the cold front shut the bite down and made it miserable, 37 degrees start to the morning. . Alan Henry is a gorgeous lake though.

we then decided to stay in San Angelo for the night. Caught up on sleep and an awesome pork chop breakfast!

My Grandparents house they bought in 1980 after retiring. I use to walk that wall.

Went by Grandparents church to see their memorial, but all locked up.

we then drove from San Angelo to Brady, which is where my mom graduated from high school in late 50’s and then Grandparents sold this house in 1980.

I took Mia to the park 2 blocks away where my Grandpa would walk me and I rode these steel horses when I was 6 and younger. They were gone although I saw them just 8 years ago. Later a couple miles away Mia said “are those your horses!”. We turned around and they sure looked like them. We took a picture and I’ll reach out to the city.

Mia and I did a little workout and 1 Mike race at a track. She won 7:43 vs. 8:00.

We then did the Pacific War Museum.
