The dirt work has started!

I have a company doing a cabin/barn pad, (2) 4-8 acre ponds, and turning a beaver pond into a real small pond.

Since I was in Mexico I haven't been to the hunt ranch since they started the dirt work, I'll be up there today for plenty of pictures and video.

Are you using the same people that did the old ranch?

no, Bucky died in a car wreck a few months back. his brother who I have worked with before took over the business, but I'm trying this Texas firm that gave me a quote too good to be true. so far they appear to be working out.

They have made a bunch of progress. Almost done with the 1st pond. I measured dam at 600 feet long, much bigger than I expected.

Pond 2 will be about the same size, but in thicker woods. They’ve only now started clearing a little.

Do you need to get any kind of permits to block streams and create a pond?

In Oklahoma if just for personal or regular agriculture use less than 15 acres, you don't need anything.

Mine isn't on a creek, just runoff on my own land about 20-30 acres each pond.

Neat perspective from today shows how big pond is and all the structure.

Ohh, forgot to post the updates. They are done! 2 ponds, 1 plot, and the pad. Had 12 18-wheeler trucks of rock brought in too.
