We hit the Oklahoma farm and for dinner our only option was to catch and cook Catfish. Luckily she did a good job and I share one of my healthy Catfish recipes on the Big Green Egg.

Melted Butter
Fresh Squeezed Lemmon & Limes

Wrap the above in foil and bake or put on your grill.
Most days, you can do what you want: work, relax, spend time with family. But, from time to time, days get sideways quickly. In my short life, I’ve experienced blizzards, fires, hurricanes, car accidents, tornados, and extreme heat events.
All of those have convinced me that being smart and prepared can get you out of trouble with less pain and suffering than you’ve otherwise endured. In this piece, I’ll offer you ten tips that have helped me get through sticky situations, as well as the...

Whether you are retired or work in the city and just want to get away, there is something great about getting outdoors. Measured by day of work or years, it is rewarding to make progress and achieving results for your labor...

Here are the recent updates with all the dirt work going on at the hunt ranch. Still a bunch of work to do, but gives you an idea what everything looked like before, large pond 1 completed, large pond 2 just started, and wildlife pond 3 somewhere in-between.

Part 2 my girlfriend comes along as we stay at a nearby cabin rental, then touring the completed pad and pond 1.
Part 3 I get to work...
I kept the cameras rolling for an entire day as I did work around the hunt ranch.
I edited the best clips from driving 100 miles to the ranch, meeting with the dirt company building my ponds, test shooting the crossbow & bow, filling a protein feeder, moving a trailer blind & feeder, and the fun fun part operating my new John Deere 333G skidsteer for the first time ever.

Long before the days of expensive hunting leases and internet scouting giving away spots, men would gather at the same place and same time every year. Ramshackle deer camps were usually built on small private lots with access to expanses of public land.
The tradition of hunt camps goes back to the beginning of man all around the world, but in North America there was an explosion of this tradition early in the 20th Century and especially following World War II. I believe more men being...
Lake Fork is known as one of the best bass lakes in the world, especially for large bass. Out of the 50 largest bass ever caught in the great bass state of Texas, 30 came from Lake Fork! Those bass range in size from 15.46 pounds up to the state record of 18.18 pounds.
Fisherman come from around the world to fish the hallowed waters of Lake Fork. There are more than 50 guides who remain booked most of the year along with all the boaters, kayakers, and shore fisherman. Everyone dreams of...
There are many factors when ranking the most dangerous mountains in Colorado. Exposure to deadly falls, exposure to weather, remoteness, altitude, and difficulty staying on trail are just some factors. Long's Peak in Rocky Mountain National Park close to Estes Park, Colorado is considered one of the deadliest, not because it is much harder technically, but there is exposure and one of the more popular mountains. Long's gets a higher level of traffic, many without much climbing experience...
The Smirnykh airbase was Japan controlled until after World War II when the Soviet Union took over control. In 1966 the airbase was updated and a few dozen aircraft like the MiG-23 were based there until the airbase was disbanded in 1994. A few MiG's and other aircraft were left there, assuming they weren't flyable.

"We need to gather all of our mates for a lovely outing in the woods to catch some Salmon. No need to worry about bears, they don't like large groups of people. We'll also be chugging beer and making a racket that will annoy all the wildlife in the mountains. I mean we're fishing for Salmon, there is NOOO one else in the woods that like Salmon too...
What a fun way to catch delicious Crappie. The new technology with Garmin Panoptix LiveScope allows you to clearly see the fish, your bait, and structure underwater. I was fishing with Cameron Burnett at Lake Fork, Texas. I caught a limit of 25 in pretty quick order. The best technique was raising the jig with minnow very slow above the nose of fish.
Big Crappie!
Limit of 25!
Plenty of Filets!
How would you like to be talking with your buddies contemplating the rest of your life and the idea of buying a remote ghost town comes up. :D
This is exactly what happened with friends Jon Bier and Brent Underwood. Jon Bier, 39, owner of public relations firm Jack Taylor PR and Brent Underwood, 31, owner of hostel HK Austin bought the ghost town in 2018. The town 200 miles north of Los Angeles is called Cerro Gordo and was once a busy mining town. From its operations 1865 to 1950's it...
I look back at memories with my dad and most of the top 20 are either fishing or hunting. He loved to be in the outdoors and not only was he sharing the outdoors with me, more importantly we were spending time together. Loved ones die, but the memories live on.
There are places to fish ALMOST all places humans live, from the coldest to the hottest regions. Manmade and natural ponds are everywhere and offer up some of the best fishing to introduce kids. It can't get any simpler than a...
Florida man has nothing on Texas man. Hurricane comes and floods the streets around you. Hey, at least you have a Whataburger on your high ground and you have your fishing pole. Far removed from any normal flowing water, cast that ditch for fun and wham! Big ole Largemouth takes your bait.
Catch that fish one handed while eating your cheeseburger!
Texas Man: 1 - Florida Man: 0.
